About The Butterfly Effecta Company 

The Butterfly Effecta Company began its journey in 2020, originally launched under the name The Womanist. Born during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization was founded to support nonprofits and mission-driven organizations facing extraordinary challenges. Drawing on over a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector, our founder set out to offer practical, strategic support to those on the frontlines of social, educational, and environmental change.

As our work deepened, so did our focus. In 2023, we transitioned to The Womanist  Laboratory—a name that reflected our growing role as a collaborative hub for innovation, reflection, and capacity-building. This evolution marked a phase of experimentation, learning, and expansion into environmental sustainability and programmatic evaluation.

Now, in 2025, we are proud to reintroduce ourselves as The Butterfly Effecta Company—a name that reflects both our roots and our refined mission. This rebrand marks a renewed commitment to the core values that drive our work: strategic clarity, sustainable growth, and meaningful impact. It also signals our dedication to centering the needs of the organizations we serve, helping them build stronger foundations and lasting change.
